1. Do you know what his favorite flowers are?
His favorite flowers are blue roses (he has one tattooed on his right upper arm btw).
2. What about hide’s tattoo on his arm? Did it change through the years?
His blue rose tattoo was like an X tattoo he did with Taiji. It stayed like this until 1997 and then when he was in LA he added more things to it. He did his “new” tattoo with J from Luna Sea in Los Angeles (J also got a tattoo the same day on his right arm). Their tattoos kinda match if I remember correctly!
3. I know hide fancied alcohol and cigarettes; did he have any special favorite kind of drink? Or type of alcohol? I know he was much of a chain smoker, but do you know if he also preferred more “quality tobacco” when he had the time over to enjoy it, such as cigars or nicely made ciggs?
His favorite alcohol is bourbon (american type of whisky). He also enjoyed Ginjo (premium) sake and he smoked Mild Seven Super lights cigarettes (he smoked up to 4 packs a day when he was working in the studio). He didn’t smoke cigars as far as I know!
4. Where did hide live in Tokyo?
hide lived in Tokyo in the Minami-azabu district of Minato (ward).
His exact address is: Tōkyō-to, Minato-ku, Minamiazabu, ２丁目１−２１
(in japanese: 東京都港区南麻布２丁目１−２１). His apartment number was 301, it’s a 3LDK (169m²) mansion and you can rent it for 45万円/month which is like $4400/month.
Floor plan: 5. What type of car hide had?
He purchased his car in Los Angeles and it’s a black 1958 Cadillac nicknamed クジラ (whale).
6. Do you know Emi Takahashi ? How many years did she work for hide? Do you know what she looks like?
Yes I know her (so I know what she looks like lol). She lives and works in Tokyo and has her own brand/shop now. She started working with hide in 1992 (until his death).

OKay, this part of the interview translated by Philip. Since it’s hide’s death anniversary, I chose the Pink Spider musical interview. Very interesting thoughts (I like the ‘little brat’ reference.^^ I remember in an interview Sugizo referring to his young self as ‘selfish and violent.’ *giggles* Now we know what J thinks of his young self):
What does Hide-san mean to you?
At that time I was playing in a band called Lunacy (Luna Sea), still a little brat. I met him while playing at a live house. Hide-san was playing guitar in a band called X, a band he created and made into a way of life. They were our superiors. At that time I would go out for drinks together with Hide-san, or as I called him Hide-ni, as if we were in the same band. He was like a brother to me, a musician I truly respect, a person who has had a huge impact on me. Impact, or influence, are easy things to put into words, but it was almost as if his influence was alive walking. An interesting, energy filled person. A person who would cause all kinds of things to happen after drinking. He had a strong approach to his music also. He is person that I want everyone to know more about, especially now. Using the songs that Hide created we created a new story, a musical. I think it is really interesting to be able to see Hide-san in this way, in the form of a musical. Even the people who have been listening to Hide’s music since the beginning will have the chance to see a new side of Hide-ni. I think this is going to be an incredible musical.
